REALWAITLIST (MENG). Please reject the offer if you plan to not attend. I applied to 10 schools and Cornell is the last school of hope :'(

UMASS AMHERST IS A JOKE!!!!!! DO NOT APPLY. SERIOUSLY, I WENT THERE FOR UNDERGRAD AND WORKED REALLY, REALLY HARD. REJECTED FOR GRAD SCHOOL. THEY DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT THEIR OWN UNDERGRADS. AND THEY ALSO TREATED APPLICANTS FROM OTHER SCHOOLS AWFUL. JUST STAY AWAY, THE FACULTY ARE FULL OF THEMSELVES. LONGTERM WHAT HAPPENED AT UMASS IS ALOT OF THE FACULTY AT UMASS GOT IN EARLY YEARS AGO BEFORE THE SCHOOL BECAME HIGH RANKED AND THE ONLY THING GRAND ABOUT THEM IS THEIR EGOS. AVOID AND SAVE YOUR MENTAL HEALTH

Did they roll out the NOT "positive notifications" yet. I did not hear anything back until now

Just got a notification email asking to check the portal. The rejection was expected. Just a bit annoyed when they were ghosting me until now. Best luck to the ones who got in!

I declined the offer several days ago. Hope they can accept a person from the waiting list.

To the salty poster below from iit bhu who couldn't get into Carleton university. Bro, your profile wasn't good enough and that's why you good reject. I know a couple of students from private universities in India whose profiles were leagues ahead of you that got accepted. Canada doesn't have a concept of Tier-4 or Tier-5 universities, so focus on improving your profile first before you rant about a college again. Moreover, the playing field is leveled as far North-American universities are concerned for admissions to students from India who belong to IITs/Non-IITs. Those who got accepted to top colleges from IITs/Non-IITs had incredibly good profiles and they got in courtesy to their skills in computer science and not "extracurriculars".

Was expecting to get admitted. Had a reasonable profile.

TTPB: UCSD wins hands-down. It has a stronger CS department, more difficult to get into, strong industry ties, and has the ideal location on the west coast!

TTPB: Congrats man. UCSD job and industry wise. There are many reports out there to show UCSD is only a ranking or two below CMU for job prospects. Mind sharing your stats? For all of us that got rejected by UCSD

(Ignore waitlist) has anyone heard back from CS PHD at UCI yet?

Have been accepted to both UCSD for MS in CS and NYU Courant for MS in CS. My main area is NLP and I wish to join the industry upon graduation. Which one is a better choice?

[Ignore wait list] Got a reply from Tom Hurst in regards to when the admission decisions will be available for everyone who hasn't received one yet, saying that "unfortunately, an offer of admission will not be forthcoming".
