I regret to inform you that your application for admission to graduate standing at the University of California, Santa Cruz has not been approved. The number of well-qualified applicants for admission to graduate study at Santa Cruz far exceeds the number of places available. Although a substantial majority of these applicants will meet every minimal standard an admissions committee might establish, not all will actually be admitted. Admission nearly always depends on, for example, compatibility of the applicant's expressed interests with those of faculty in the program, and balance of disciplinary subfields within the program, as well as other factors. Please direct any further inquiry you might have to the Department to which you applied. Although it has not proved possible for us to offer you a place, we sincerely appreciate your interest in the Santa Cruz campus of the University of California. I wish you well in your current and future pursuit of advanced studies.

Ignore WL: PSU deadline for accepting the admission was 15th April. Now it is high time for uni to send the acceptance/reject to waitlisted apps. Any idea if they would send it soon or by next week??

TTPBs: The research programs at Canadian universities were badly affected by the deferrals and reduced funding for this academic year. That is a significant reason for the high number of rejections in addition to several deferrals for research-based MSc programs.

TTPB: "If your application checklist is complete, but you have not been notified of an admissions decision yet, your application is awaiting a decision. We hope to send out all final admissions decisions sometime in April"

Randomly checked the website to see a rejection. Did not even bother to send an email for status update.

Thesis-base....... Waiting for Course-base.... really hope to get in Course-base program...

Bachelor's from Pakistan. 2 research internships (1 in germany and 1 in Pakistan). 1.5 years of research oriented work experience in Machine Learning.

(Ignore waitlist) TPB their website mentions "Through May" for results (at least for computer science), but I'm very curious to know if anyone's heard from the CS PhD department yet?
