To the person asking about UMass Amherst, I am also waiting for the result and haven't heard back from them. Among UMass Amherst, Case Western, and UAkron, which is the best school for a doctorate degree in polymer?

Does anyone who got admission at UMass apply for MS/PhD program?

Replying to the question below: My application status was changed to "Update Pending" yesterday. I logged in today and saw that I was accepted. No more emails were sent since the application status change email yesterday.

Unbelievable. Nearly 4 months since the deadline and they haven't sent a decision yet.

emailed me that the status has changed on the website.... good school, really disappointed :(

Masters GPA: 3.61, 1 publication (journal), two presentations in national conferences, 2 years research experience. Interview on 22nd via skype

Just checked the website! Tier 2 university in India (GPA out of 10). No research papers. Good projects. 2 mediocre LORs. I have no clue how I got in. I provided the abstracts for my minor project and internship report at the last moment. Think that made the difference. All the best guys! Don't lose hope now.

To all the admits below, did u guys get an email yesterday morning...If so, when did ur status change from 'update pending' to 'admit'

I applied for MS in CS in early December,17 but haven't heard anything yet and my status is still applied on the SPIRE. I mailed them and they said that if it is still applied it means CS department hasn't made the decision yet. BTW, I got the reply from gradstatus@grad.umass.edu so you guyz can try to mail them too, and please update here.

Status changed to update pending yesterday around noon. Logged into spire today and saw the acceptance. :)

B.Eng in computer engineering, MS in physics from the top university in Japan. GPA:3.3 (UGrad), 4.0 (Grad). 2 research intern at decent institutions, several publications in CS and physics at workshops/posters but no full paper. Also admitted to a couple of comparable schools. I also applied for PhD programs at other schools but rejected by all, so I'm going to accept the offer from UMass.

No email. The result just appeared on the SPIRE portal.
