TPB: Acceptance and funding information came from the Office of Graduate Admissions and did not include anything regarding visit day. My guess is that an email from the department will follow soon with this information. I can post it here when it comes if you're interested.

I got an e-mail from Georgetown University Office of Graduate Admissions about 'application status update' just now (at 11:33 am, Washington D.C.). The updated application status page said "Upon the recommendation of the Admissions Committee, I am pleased to approve your admission to the Ph.D. in Economics program, effective with the Fall 2020 Semester. Be sure to print or save a copy of this letter for your future reference. I am also pleased to inform you that you have been selected to receive a merit-based Graduate School financial aid award. More information about your award and how to accept it is detailed in the financial award letter that will follow."

Straight from undergrad. Multiple work/study experiences in the ME, decent GPA, no GRE

3.91 undergrad gpa from small, average (possibly below-average) liberal arts school. IR/French double major, Spanish/econ double minor. 95th percentile verbal, 84th writing, average quant. No internships but strong recs, 1.5 years full time employment in unrelated field + consistent employment through undergrad. Would love love love to get in off the waitlist but probably lots of much better candidates also on the list. Astonished to have been put on it at all instead of outright rejection. Accepted to JHU, GW, American, Denver, UCSD

Has anyone heard from the government department? I called a while ago and heard it was last week or this week but haven't heard anything.

in response to your question below, I applied on and by the January 15th deadline. to my knowledge, this was the only deadline after which applications would be read. the Dec. 1 deadline was only meant to provide a waived application fee but I think applications were still read at the same time. hope this helps!
