Has anyone in sociolinguistics who was invited to the prospective student day heard anything since then?

To the comment below: Sorry for being vague with 'some time ago'. I applied for the the PhD program in 2011 and got accepted with funding(!!!) but I couldn't take the offer due to personal reasons. Fast forward to 2019, the 'personal reason' was no longer an issue so I applied for Fall 2020. I hope I get accepted again :)

Applying straight from undergraduate. Received full tuition waiver and TA-ship.

Are there any notifications from theoretical linguistics in Georgetown University?

Hi to the comment below about Georgetown: I met the POI earlier last fall because I wrote to her and was invited to a campus visit. She taught me that they care most about the writing sample and SoP. I think my writing sample is weak, because it was a course paper from graduate school in 2014 (I have graduated and been in work for several years), which was old and immature, and the citations were not the most up-to-date, too. Besides I did not change and edit that writing too much before I submitted it as writing sample, so now when I look at a writing 5 years ago, I did notice it was not that perfect. And may I ask did you mean that you were admitted in previous year and reapply this year?

To the poster below: I applied for the AL program as well but I have not heard back from them yet. Would you mind sharing why you think your SoP was weak? *I got accepted to the program some time ago but couldn't accept it for personal reasons. I was not asked for an interview and I was not invited to the prospective day and yet got accepted. I'm hoping that's the case this year too :)

Not surprised because I was not invited to the prospective student day. I did meet with the POI in person earlier last fall and we talked a little. I knew this program is strong and competitive. I guess the biggest weakness of my application is that my writing sample is not good enough.

Does anyone happen to know the chance of getting off from the waitlist for this program? Thank you in advance!
