TTPB: Actually the email says " I wish I could be writing to inform you that " you were included in the group we accepted in the first round. Meaning that he is saying that he is sorry to tell you that you were not admitted in the first round! Has nothing to do with "strong waitlisted"

I am on the waitlist and the mail says that "you were included in the group we accepted in the first round." Does the statement imply I am on the "strong waitlist" or is it just a generic statement?

Will likely decline. Long email from Prof. Rust, and his heart is in the right place, but something about these long emails doesn't sit quite right. Maybe I'm just curmudgeonly. Best of luck to those who remain on the WL, and cheers to those accepted.

GPA is Undergrad. Phil. Major; 1a/7r/0w/5p Received a very nice call from Dr. Mattingly informing me of the news.

4+ years of international development experience. Strong LORs. Science background with 4.0 GPA, but not in development-related field. Strong Verbal/Writing, but a pretty low quant, honestly. Thank baby jesus this program values experience in the field. Offered 33% tuition, free language classes, internship stipend/airfare for summer between first and second years.

6 applicants were accepted out of 170 total applicants. Message from James Mattingly: "You will be getting a letter from the Georgetown Graduate School reporting this decision in the next week or so. But their process is slow and I thought it would be better to let you know right away."

finally! last school i was waiting to hear back from. apparently they accepted 6 out of 170 applications

No funding, but DSPP seems to be a nice program and DC is a place with abundant resources and opportunities.
