is there anyone who did not get the waitlist email and is still waiting for the decision?

For the first time I am actually using the waitlist feature on grad cafe for actually showing a waitlist :p. Anyways, seems quite a lot of leftover people have received a waitlist including me. Lets keep our fingers crossed real tight...

TTPB: I think pretty much everyone whose applications have not been looked at yet got this email. I don't think waitlist in this situation means what we think it does.

Do people get accepted from the waitlist?

Just got the same email! Will know by Jane 1st apparently. How many of us have gotten this?

PLEASE let USC know by email if you don't plan to attend. What is the point holding a spot if you have a better offer! If your reasoning is, "well because I paid to apply" then...

Just got a mail saying I've been waitlisted and all applicants will hear by 1st june.

Received an email stating that I'm waitlisted... Do people actually get off the waitlist?

The following email received about 3pm EST for MSCS (AI) application: "Due to the tremendous interest in our Master's programs, we have placed your application on a waitlist. All applicants with completed applications will receive notification of a decision by June 1st. ". At least there is a final deadline for announcing the decisions!

Rejected. Had applied to the MS with thesis track. I already have my dream admit so would have declined it anyway. Congratulations to those who got in!

Surprised I got in, UT Austin was one of my ambitious ones. Rejected by Columbia the other day so this feels good

Is there anyone here who was waitlisted by Columbia for Fall'20 admissions and hence was given the opportunity to apply for Spring'21 or Fall'21 with zero application fees? For such students, Columbia reactivated their application on the old portal itself and they're supposed to apply from there itself. Columbia chose not to merge their applications with the new portal. Is there anyone here who belongs to this category of people and has heard back from Columbia either in positive or negative? They're not responding to the query mails sent to them either, an auto-generated response is sent back.

TTPB: Bro, you talking about visa, what about courses? They won't let you register courses without i20. USC will begin course registration soon. F for the people who will get admit in June. Most students will register for the courses by then. You will either be waitlisted again just like right now to add to your anxiety. Or you need to take up courses which are recommended for the 1st sem. As everyone might be aware of the batch size there. This might hamper your cgpa as well.

All this fuss about USC every year, lol! But I am amazed people haven't moved on already this year. It's almost mid May and might be considered stupid if you are still just waiting for USC. Be thankful to everyone who supported you through this process and willingly accept the other admit you have. You are gonna spend hefty tuition fees for your masters and so you should be happy with the admit you have. Next year is gonna be the same, same number of deferrals, same number of new applications and same cgpa filter. Start with the other process because an admit in June, won't assure you your visa slot. And USC may simply ask you to apply next year or defer. I am going for the Summer term to some other university this June and I am still not able to get emergency visa slot (ps: trying since 2 weeks). So, it's gonna require a lot of luck to get visa if you get an admit in May end or June.

TTPB: to all rejects from Columbia MSCS. Can u tell me when did u apply and when it went under review If anyone is from India. Thanks
