I've seen others on gradcafe have reported receiving first round offers from UBC, but I hadn't heard back since submitting my materials in December 2022. After emailing to ask for my application status, I received a rejection email 2 days later. I'm a little disappointed that UBC did not update my portal status or notify sooner, as they clearly made a decision (perhaps a month ago). Without my inquiry, maybe I will still have to wait. As an international student, I need ample time to prepare for other stuffs. While UBC is my dream school, I hope they improve their communication and notification process in the future.

Long awaited. This program was my top choice and I'm both thrilled and stunned to have been accepted. I had emailed NYU in March asking when decisions would be released and had been told they would come out by the last week of March. The first week of April I reached out again, and was told they would be out by the end of the week. This week (the second week of April) I was heavily anticipating a response and also coming to terms with the fact that the response would likely be a rejection. I happened to get an email to check my portal and my acceptance letter was there. I'm absolutely over the moon and will be accepting this offer. I'm wishing well to everyone else on their journeys!

If you're still holding multiple offers, you are a terrible person

Got an email from Dreux Montgomery letting me know there had been an overwhelmingly large number of highly qualified applicants, and I had been placed on a waitlist. The waitlist would begin in rounds starting after April 15th until spots had been filled.

No GRE. Very quick response considering the app was due January 6th. I was waiting on my top choice to get back to me, and thinking they wouldn't respond by April 15th, I asked for an extension on the acceptance deadline. Allie and the program director were both very kind and accommodating and said I could have an extension until April 28th. However, my first choice got back to me today so I will be declining this offer.

Ignore waitlist. Anyone heard back from Boston? Or anyone rejected their offer?

Admitted with a full fellowship and stipend and everything! Absolutely ecstatic. Couldn't be more grateful!
