ttpb, i think that we should brace ourselves for the rejection. It's pretty much clear now. or maybe the're buying time until others who got admitted have to give a decision by the deadline which is 8th july. I dont know, lets just wait and see. Btw does anyone know if they're letting waitlisted admits to defer admission to next year? if not than even if it's a acceptance, it's no better than a rejection.

TTPB: Yep, even I got the same reply to wait for 48-72 hours. What is taking so much time I don't understand :(

I just heard back from USC regarding the query i sent by email about the status of my application. the emails says "Thank you for your email. Your file indicates that a decision has been issued on your application. Please note, it may take 48-72 hours for your decision to be available on youSC."

I am also the victim of this waitlist thing by USC. I had emailed the USC Grad Office to ask about the decision status but in response, after 4 days I received an email telling me to redirect my queries to viterbi.gradadmission@usc.edu or call on (213) 740-7755. So, I did that too and got an automatic reply stating "In observance of the Fourth of July holiday our office will close early on Thursday, July 2nd, and will reopen on Monday, July 6th." They left a small note too, "We have a small but hardworking staff that is replying to your message asap."

To the EE poster: Damn dude I got the same message after I spammed the VASE staff for like a week and I have been waiting without a waitlist email too. I guess not everyone of us got a waitlist email. Anyway only 3 more days! with Covid-19 going on a lot of people deferred the admission to Spring or fall 2021, so we still do have a chance bc they gotta fill the fall 2020 admissions some way, USC is all about money TBH, so lets wait and see..

TTPB - What do you mean "won't reopen for the Fall"?

TTPB: As some EE applicant in another POST said, the school is trying to send out all final decisions by 8th of July. Technically, there is still a gleam of hope, but at this point we all know what the whole deal about those late notifications was, a selfish scheme. It is up to you to decide what to do with your offer, but I guess most of us won't be too inclined to pay that much for online classes (USC recently officially announced they are changing courses and are not going to reopen for this fall), especially if it is not even guaranteed that you will get on campus for Spring 2021 . 57k new cases in one day. This is not a second wave, it is just getting started.

TTPB. I applied to AI, General, Scientists and Engineers. Received results from none of them.

To everyone who is still waiting, what track did you apply for? I got rejected from track A.I. but have not heard back from the general one. You are supposed to get a decision for each program.

If only rejections were left, they would have already sent out the results. I think they are waiting for something (I don't know what). Aren't the statement of intent deadline over already? What would they be waiting for? Sooooooo unprofessional administration. They should have sent out another email saying that the decision process is taking longer than the date they promised in the waitlist email, so us applicants can a tleast know what's going on.

I guess they are just sending out rejections now . They took around 7 months for this decision to make . It sucks to he waitlisted rather they could just put it on our face .

TTPB: Glad to know that I'm not the only person that hasn't received any form of response. I haven't been rejected, nor waitlist, and I've also emailed them, with no response. Tomorrows my birthday, so maybe i'll get rejected on my birthday oof.

TTPB: I received my mail around 2:00 am L.A. TIME (PDT), stating that my decision is available on the youSC portal. It seems like they are only sending out rejections, cause I think its unlikely there will be another waitlist waiting for people to accept the non-deferral Fall 2020 option.

To the posters below. When did you receive your emails? What I really need right now is not an admission to the program, but a closure to my application. If I get in, good for me but I really want this stressful waiting period to be over.

Not much to add right. Waitlisting students to fill up Fall 2020 spots (not going to reopen this year anyway) but I guess they're playing those kind of games to keep the cash flow steady. Heads off to the admission committee and the accounting department for plotting this. Nevertheless, congratulations to the ones accepted and I hope everyone else has a plan B :) Best of luck!

They took 7 months to reject!

After 6 long months of nothing, got the rejection today. Never going to apply to this university nor recommend it to anyone as a first priority
