Information Studies, University Of Maryland, College Park No GRE, 3 years of undergrad in Comp Sci, Quant Econ, Math at mid-sized LAC, no published papers, but have 3 independent research + 2 semesters of RA. Had an interview with POI in late Jan, but I didn't send any follow-up emails. Still waiting for other decisions since UMD is not my top choice. Didn't think I'd get in but happy to answer any questions!

Economics, Penn State University Received email saying I got accepted for admission but waitlisted for funding. FYI I applied to Maryland but haven't received anything yet, had an interview with UMich Ross faculty last week, and got waitlisted at UMich Econ week and half ago.

My portal status also says that I am \'accepted\' , but it seems like a first stage of decision - admitted, either funded or non-funded.\r\nThe first funding decisions are likely to be announced in mid-Feb.\r\nSaw the bottom paragraph of OSU Econ FAQ page: economics.osu.edu/osu-economics-phd-program-application-frequently-asked-questions

Economics, Ohio State University Ignore the status. My portal status also says that I am 'accepted' , but it seems like a first stage of decision - admitted, either funded or non-funded. The first funding decisions are likely to be announced in mid-Feb. Economics And Management, London School Of Economics & Political Science (LSE) This refers to the MRES/PHD in Economics and Management. I just wanted to post this for future applicants in the next cycle to have a clear picture of the time frame of the decisions on this new program. I put it as my first choice (not regular Econ, and they liked it). I was invited to an interview on the 28th of Jan, which occurred on the 7th of Feb. I was initially told they were going to make their decisions very shortly but then I got an email saying even though I was a strong candidate they received a new batch of applications that they were reviewing (people rejected in Econ). Finally, on the 12th of March, I was rejected. I got a great waitlist at a top 10 school recently so I am happy but this was quite painful. Tips for the interview...they will press you on your research proposal and they will also ask if you would be ready to accept the offer quickly. I didn't say yes seeing as the application cycle had just begun but that might have hurt my chances.

Economics, Michigan State University, Georgia State University I just got my offer from MSU today, off the waitlist. Now I have to pick between the two. Any advice? I'm interested in econ of ed, and ultimately want to be a tenure-track prof. Might be a big fish v, little fish question. I'm also from Michigan, my family would be so happy...

Computer Science, Cornell Tech $20k merit scholarship. Math-econ undergrad. Still unsure if I'm going to enroll since the courses don't align perfectly and they keep dropping more courses I want to take each year. 5 years of experience as a largely self-taught software engineer, currently earning >$400k

Economics, University Of Southern California After several rejections I have been accepted. I was not interviewed nor received a waitlist email. I was contacted last weekend by professor asking me if I will attend in case they made me an offer and received the offer on monday. I'll attend. The process was stressful (and long), so to whoever reads this in following years, hang in there and believe in yourself :). I don't have a perfect background, but I believe research experience counts a lot, good letters of recommendations and match with faculty are super important. There is a lot of randomness and luck here, is it impossible to guarantee that your profile will be read by someone who appreciate your interests (sad but true - econ is to broad). Good luck to everyone who still waiting and good luck to future applicants ^^.
