Got an email to check status EoD for the thesis based Masters program. Had prior research experience

w/ aid (assistantship)

POI emailed me that I am accepted and he already sent my name to the committee. But still no official notification.

I received an email from the Academic Coordinator in the MSE department yesterday, 3/6. She extended an invitation to interview on campus March 21-22. I am guessing I was on a waitlist previously as this is really short notice, but I have no idea really. This is my first time hearing anything from GA Tech. In the email it was clear that interview is not a guarantee of admission. The only thing that was expressed was that if a professor wants us to join their lab, we will immediately be accepted as we have already been pre approved by the graduate school for admission. The academic coordinator asked me to send her a list of up to 7 professors that I would be interested in meeting. I am not going to contact professors before meeting them. I am not interested in any aspects of Bioengineering/biomaterials lol. Trying to get into a lab focusing on inorganic functional materials for energy applications.

My status on applyweb is still being shown as "Submitted", not even "To Dept for Review" :(

Yes, it's all over now. 3rd reject. This was not at all expected. Good LORs, SOP, CGPA, relevant experience in industry. What do they want? Have lost faith over the admissions for MS in US.

Did GaTech give out the decision wrt the specialization given? Has anyone who applied for Interactive Intelligence got anything yet?

My story is exactly like you. High major GPA but low CGPA. Got rejections from 4 out of 8 universities now and no hopes for admission. But don't get disappointed now. Shit happens. I think lowering your expectations a little bit for the next year will help.

Official notice from the department. No interview. Didn't contact anybody. Field is theory (the ACO program)

I am the one who applied on Jan 25th and I got last week's mail stating that "decisions will be out over next few weeks". Today, I didn't get any mail. Is there any one who hasn't got any mail like me..

Very excited! Post MS mid-level professional with 5+ years experience. You can do it folks. Find and work on what you're passionate about, build those publications, and identify 1-2 PIs whose work speaks to you that you want to work with.
