Graduate School Admission Results

Email of acceptance, application status changed to Under Grad School Review. (Was told recommended for admission by dept, pending formal letter from grad school). There's a Virtual Graduate Visit Day tomorrow Mar 12 for meeting with faculty. Bachelors, 3.8 GPA, No publications, 2 RA positions, TA for several years.

I have a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in applied social science; 3.6 GPA in both degrees. I have around a year of ethnographic research experience and 8+ years international work experience in my geographic area of interest. The scores I have included in this note are my current scores, though I decided to not provide my GRE scores for this application due to the COVID-19 GRE scores waiver for the 2021 cycle. I was not interviewed or contacted by the program prior to my admission. This was my second year of applying to the program; I am not a Peace Corps alumnus. The program sent a generic email congratulating me for admission to the school on March 5th, 2021. I was sent details about my financial aid status on March 11th, 2021. I was given a 30% tuition scholarship or about $20k of $60k per year.

TTPB: I had an interview a week ago and was notified of my acceptance at 9 EST this morning! The official acceptance from the grad school is to come.

My first acceptance! With a hep-ex group, they want me to start research right away. Literally crying as I type this.

Applied on Jan 15. Got an email saying that the School has officially recommended my admission into the program & the grad school will send the official decision letter later. Absymal GPA, good portfolio, 1.5 years UX Design work-ex.

The people who have been accepted to Maryland, but are thinking of going to other Unis, please please try to send rejection as soon as possible.

M.Eng. in Robotics (PMRO) program. Did not get any scholarship

Got an email from department mentioning my acceptance. Official letter will be uploaded after grad school review.

Emailed to check on any updates/status and I'm on the waitlist. Found out that they have a round of admissions offers out now and are continuing to make decisions over the next several weeks. No exact timeline was provided on when final decision will be made on my application.

Two interviews that seemed like they went well, but realize there are ways I could have been better at self-promotion there. That said - I had already accepted another offer when the results came.

I knew it was coming, but it still stings. I heard from a professor there that they dropped their program from 5 people to 2, and that they typically had over 800 applicants, so CRAZY competitive. Congratulations to everyone accepted/waitlisted! 1a/3w/6r/4p

Interestingly, no word on funding or who my PI will be which has been the case for every other PhD program I've been admitted to. Maybe they'll notify us in a few weeks.
