Clinical Psychology, Northern Illinois University (NIU) Hi fellow NIU poster! I did receive an interview, and had a nice time, but the program had a few flags for me. First, the PIs talked a lot about not liking drama, and the grad students shared that there were folks in the program who had switched labs because of interpersonal conflict. Clearly lab cohesion was on the brain. Additionally, one of investigators works closely with police officers on a project with "blue lives" in the title. When I inquired about how this project has interfaced with the black lives matter movement, or whether the PI had received any push-back about the name, no one seemed to have an answer. As an activist, I found this a bit alarming. Finally - and this is very picky - the restaurants in DeKalb certainly leave something to be desired if you're used to having access to a bustling foodie scene. It could be the perfect pick for someone! It just was not for me, and it seems that feeling was mutual. Best of luck!

Information Science, Indiana University Bloomington No. I did not have an interview with a faculty member on that date. As I indicated on the note, I just received an urgent email from The Luddy School that requested me to have the test. The mail said, "The Luddy School's admissions committee has been reviewing the application files and your file is in the review process. No decision has been made yet; however, the admissions committee is interested in having you take an English proficiency exam (called the TEPAIC) via Skype to access your English ability."

Computer Science, Northeastern University Received the notification that a decision has been made on my application, but for some reason I cannot access it on my dashboard. Weird. Probably, a server load was too high. Gonna check it again later.

Economics, Rice University For those asking for interview questions, first, PhD students have no access to your applications. That is to say, they will not know anything on your background and experience. PhD students are just going to ask some easy questions and record the interview for admission committees' review.

Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University Got the offer in the morning, was tensed looking at all the rejections here. I have offers from UCL, NYU, Cambridge, USC, and now CMU. The acceptance rate of the program is so extremely low (I mean WOW! it's sick), I thought I'd be rejected. My profile: 1 Granted Patent, 9 First Author Publications (Mostly in tier - 1 and tier 2 journals; IEEE Access, Wireless Networks, etc.), 3 Granted Software Copyrights, External Reviewer for IEEE Access, 2 Articles about me in news media, 1 Pending Patent, 1 Prestigious internship at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), India. Now, the decision is going to be tough. All the best to others, decisions are still being sent, so do not lose hope.

Statistics, University Of Michigan I cannot access to Wolverine Access. After log-in, I cannot access to "new and prospective students" section. Maybe they closed my account. No interview, no rejection, no waitlist email... Seems like a silent rejection.

My Profile: BSc + MS: University of Dhaka, Bangladesh (CGPA: 3.5 +). GRE: 318 (Q: 167). IELTS: 8.5 (L: 9, R: 9, S: 8.5, W: 7.5). Publication: 55 (12 Journal papers: mostly in IEEE Access, Springer, Elsevier and MDPI, 43 Conference Papers: IEEE explore and ACM). Experience: 5.5 Years (1 Year as a RA in University of Dhaka + 1 Year as Software Engineer + 3.5 year as a Lecturer in a private university of Bangladesh). Best of Luck guys. :D

Anthropology, University Of Michigan Making a huge career change. 2 B.S. with ~2.5 GPA. M.S. in Toxicology with 3.3 GPA. A few years of research in the biological science field and some veterinarian school. Went to Wolverine Access and saw the rejection.
