Graduate School Admission Results

Said they have sent out interview invites but aren't promising a next round of interviews, and if at all, it will be in march. Don't know if this is a subtle rejection as they didn't make it explicit.

Oppos! I accidentally claimed acceptance in my last post. Holy crap. There's a single line on the portal saying, "We are sorry to inform you that you have not been admitted to the Graduate School at UW-Madison." This is hilarious.

CP subfield. Received an email notifying I was rejected. GPA is for master's.

PI reached out to conduct zoom interview today morning. However, has not yet the sent the link for it! Hoping for the best.

Received unofficial notif last wed. Got the email Tuesday. Full funding, no interviews required.

TOEFL: 115

OChem track, one 1st-authored pub.

I applied to UW Madison and had almost a similar profile. So apparently they won't accept low students with low GPA. Their loss.

2 years of Ochem research, taken 6 graduate level Ochem courses, amazing letters of rec from various research advisors, 6 month analytical chem internship, 6 months unrelated research, spent time interacting with POIs ahead of time, 2 years teaching. Everyone thought I was golden, but clearly the assholes in the committee couldn't recognize talent if it choked them to death.
