Graduate School Admission Results

Hi, please ignore the status. Has anyone heard back from the Communication Science concentration in the Communication Arts PhD? I have seen people getting offers from other tracks but nothing about communication science!

After careful review of your application materials, we regret that we are unable to offer you admission to our program. We had an extremely large pool of highly qualified applicants, and are only able to accept a limited number into our program. We are sorry we do not have better news, but wish you well in your pursuit of future education and career goals.

I attended an informal interview with the program director and coordinator. They announced my admission result in this interview session. Official offer will send me after going through Graduate School. (background: overseas research master's degree, four first-authored journal articles, several international conference acceptances with one top conference)

Received phone call from one of my interviewers. The online interview was comfortable and felt like a conversation rather than an interview. This was my dream program, and I plan to accept it!

Received the email from the director and coordinator. They said this year they received 70+ applicants but only admit 5 or fewer. Good luck to the rest.
