Surprised....

3 published papers (1 first author in journal IF 18, 1 as second author, 1 as a co-author), 3 submitted papers, 4 LoRs (3 strong), GPA 3.82, TOEFL 105, more than 3 years of research experiences.

No GRES. 3.5 GPA undergrad. 3+ years of research in bioinformatics with 3 first author papers, 6 co-authorshps, and an oral presentation at a major conference.

Research experience: 1.5 years during my master's study and 2 years full-time job. 2 first-author and 4 mid-author publications. 3 strong LORs.

I'm a technician there.
