B.Sc, Good GRE, good international GPA, no publications,1 yr of research experience and 1 yr experience on the industry. :(

My research interests only align with one or two of their faculty; doesn't surprise me that they rejected me, but still a little upset.

Contacted the committee member, they think what Leslie posted on twitter is personal, and their decision are not based on what she said. It's good this not-so-happy discussion could help the applicants next year know what they should write in the ps, and pray harder for their material do not go to some certain professor. still think it's weird we should write our ps to please someone and prioritize their preference or taste in order to get in. By all means they hold the power and resource.
