to the Int. applicant who accepted by Fedex: Where are you from? (have'nt heard from MIT yet and wondering if it's possible the answer is on the way)

Emailed them to update my CV -> they responded with a rejection

British applicant in London, Fedex packet reached on Friday but was only able to get it today due to weekend break.

Looks like I'll be doing something else for a year...joy.

First rejection! Letter said over 700 applicants for 40 spots.

Letter dated 02/26. I live close to MIT, so if you live further away, expect a letter in the next few days.

today, 4:19 pm; it's so hard to get admitted into any OR program this year....

MIT no but Columbia yes. It's great to not care when you get rejected; just too bad I paid 80 bucks for the app fee through.

This year the Operations Research Center received a large number of applications from outstanding candidates, and we are in the unfortunate situation of having many more qualified applicants than we have spaces in our program. Therefore, even though your credentials are very strong, we regret that we are unable to offer you admission to the interdepartmental graduate degree program in Operations Research.
