15 % admitted rate is comparatively big among top programs....My dream school rejected me.....hopeless mode (0-2), 4 more to go.

4 good IEEE conference publications 3 non refereed publications 3.88 Masters GPA

not too surprised, wanted to research things they didn't research already

This is my third rejection, sad. ..."unfortunately we cannot offer you admission to our department at this time" ... "this year only 15% of applicants were admitted"

received by fedex... I had assumed rejected as I hadn't yet heard anything. no email, no details on funding, 9% of 350 accepted. March 16-17 visit date

to the one who just got a fedex from MIT, what is your concentration/ faculty interest....i am wondering if certain profs are more likely to call and if i still have a chance. PM hopeful2 if you want.

Has MIT poli sci announced results? their website says that they never call applicants. I called the dept and the admin said that they would send out letters today.

Did MIT finish their selection process? I haven't heard anything from them. Do I have no hope now?

Their selection process is still in progress..they sent some admissions and rejections.. i've got the same situation - still waiting.. hopefully there's still a chance.

MIT has finished the admissions process for the pure mathematics program (they finished a couple of weeks ago.. grad coordinator told me personally). For applied mathematics the situation may be different.
