Graduate School Admission Results

Hi, I reported acceptance; I was in the waitlist and applied about 10 days after the deadline. I am waiting for USF because I believe it is the better program, but I am on the waitlist there and was accepted in UC Davis and Stevens, but don't know which one to attend. Any opinions?

I too was rejected from the MA program and asked if I wanted to be considered for the certificate program. I rejected to be considered since I had two certificates already (one from coursera, one from a boot camp program that wasn't terribly technical -- much cheaper!). Listen folks, data science is a FLAT playing field; you DO NOT need a program like this to land a good data science gig or to vastly expand your skills. I barely met the prereqs for this program + bad GRE scores (though had some 3 years work experience in data engineering/analysis) and got offered a job the same day as my Columbia rejection as a data scientist for a fortune 500 company w/above salary median in 2014 O’Reilly data science salary survey. Work hard and dream harder!

Isnt it a roll-over based process? How can they declare all the results ( Acceptances/Rejections) at the same time ?? Havent heard from anyone about receiving any rejections either! Lets hope we get some news next week!

Email to check website. Applied 3/27. Undergrad in CS, 1 year at a unicorn tech/data science company, 1 year at a quant hedge fund. Will be studying part time. Very excited!

This would mean they are still reviewing applications. Any idea what is this year's class intake ? It was around 80 I think last year. I assume 30-40 seats are already given. Their voicemail says early April that could mean next week or even after April 15th ! They said they had 1000 applications to review this year. Tuesday is the Data Science Townhall meet so no results on tuesday :(

Is anyone else still pending an accept/reject? It probably doesn't look too good at this point...

I'm still waiting to hear back, don't have high hopes though.

To whomever still on the waitlist and still waiting: don't give up hope but also don't put too much hope on it. It's rolling based admission, I just got off waitlist today and it's been a whole month since my interview. It's a really slow process but I am sure most of you guys already have a settlement outside UBC. I am thankful and best wish for those who are still waiting.

HirnrnAnyone received accept/reject from UBC in master in data science?? If yes, share your profile?? How much time did they give you to confirm?

I am waiting to hear back from UBC MDS program and I am from India. I have been checking this fourm and some facebook connections. I don't know anybody with an admit yet. Lee from the admin office had mentioned mid april as the time for decisions.

I'm still waiting as well... checking their website/facebook every day and status is still "Submitted":(

The latest info from Lee about they still reviewing the applications, how old is that? Did he mention that this week?

Same here. They said there will only be 50 positions... Even I feel it'll be a rejection in the end, I'm sone with waiting.

6 years of experience in BI/Analytics. Bachelors in Electronics. I got a generic mail saying that I haven't made it to the first round of offers but still good enough application to be waitlisted. Not sure when it will be finalized, lots of variables around it. They say by June 2019, we should know. Anybody got accepted?
