Does anyone know if the Stanford PhD program does a waitlist? If so, would we be notified that we're on the waitlist?

Area: CS/ML Had an interview from non-POI. Was scared I wouldn't get a chance to talk with POI but the actual POI emailed me with unofficial acceptance email few hours before official acceptance email just now. Good luck everyone...

Saw comments that decision mails came around this time last year: how is it looking to be this year? Also, has anyone heard back from Systems? Not a single mail till now, and have lost all hope...

Email to check portal and standard rejection letter

Email to check portal after interviewing last week. Given generic rejection letter.

"After careful consideration of your application, we regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you a place in the PhD program in the Department of Anthropology at Stanford University. We received many competitive applications for very few openings. Because of the small number of students admitted to the PhD program each year, we regrettably turn away many strong applications."

Email said to check portal. Dry 3 line rejection pdf attached as decision. This was the first rejection I have received but still no acceptances either so it just wasn't the right place for me. Congratulations to those accepted.

I had mailed the Aerospace admissions office asking for application status update. They replied as follows: Your application is complete and under review. A majority of PhD application decisions will be determined in February. I haven't yet received any interview mail. Did anyone have an interview with POI SL/ JA ?
