Graduate School Admission Results

Received email to check website.

I applied back in mid-Dec last year and have been waiting to hear back from them since deadline Jan31. Not a word still and "date checked" is blank on documents submitted. It's supposed to take 8-10 weeks so 2 more weeks to go I guess...

Anyone applied to UBC MDS and heard back from them? It's been ages. Status still "In Progress" and documents have not been reviewed.

I completed the interview. The email says that the decisions are expected to go out starting the middle of March. I have to say that the interview was really behavioral. No technical question was asked. They focused on your experience and activities. I don't know if this is the same for all the others. Good luck to everyone!

TTPB: How was your interview? what kind of questions did they ask? where any of them Technical? also can you give example if possible?

Just finished interview, received an email says decision coming before end of march

TTPB: I actually spoke to an admissions officer before I applied and they told me not everyone who is admitted will be interviewed and the interview is on an as-needed basis. Seems like the interview is more for the people that are on the edge. So you can get accepted without having an interview.

TTPB: May I know is the interview being given out on a rolling basis? I applied right before the deadline and wonder whether they give out by batch?

TTPB: The deadline for the interview is this Friday and I haven't taken it yet. I know that last year some applicants were rejected without being invited to interviews, so maybe it is a good signal to get the interview. The email says that the interview will be more behavioral instead of technical.

To the poster below, have you given the interview what did they asked for? is it for people who qualified in the next round?

I received the one-way interview invitation today.

Engineering background (non CS) with decent undergraduate GPA. Two years of relevant work experience.
