International but undergrad in a small liberal arts college in the US. No GREs, no pubs. Interviewed on 3/6/2023. Applied for AMO Physics. Applied via email without fees.

Anyone hear back after the ambiguous emails? What are they even doing?!

I have been notified that I'm in the shortlist but they can't let me know for sure until closer to the April 15 deadline. If you're not going to Northwestern, please reject your offer as soon as possible, it would help people in my position a lot.

I was wondering if anyone else got this email and if they've heard anything since then: "I am writing to inform you that we have made our initial round of admissions decisions for admission starting Autumn 2023. While your application is very strong, we cannot offer you admission into The Ohio State University Physics Graduate Program at this time. However, we would like to keep you (and a small number of other highly qualified applicants) on our Waiting List. We had many applications for just a few positions this year, and could not offer admission to all highly qualified students during our first round of offers. In mid-April, just before the April 15th deadline, we will be able to better determine if we are able to make additional offers for this year. Please let us know if you would like to remain on our waiting list or if you have any other questions. I wish you the best in your future graduate studies."

Got accepted without the Amelio fellowship, I let them know that I'd need the fellowship. They have already made fellowship offers, but if anyone declines, they'd grant me the fellowship. Therefore, if anyone who has got the Amelio fellowship has better offers, pls decline and let them know, would be very helpful. *insert Bernie Sanders meme* I'm once again urging anyone accepted to gatech with the Amelio fellowship to decline their offers asap, so that other selected students who're in dire need of the fellowship can stand a chance even to be considered for it. Pretty please!
