Have people received any updates on the waitlisted candidates for virginia tech? They dont seem to be responding to emails either

Got waitlisted by email inquiry on April 5th. Anyone received an update or admission decision? Any information is appreciated.

Have a MS and BS from top physics programs. Had applied for CMP-Th, I was looking to change and do not have a lot of background in that field. Interview in January. I have 4 physics papers and 1 math paper (all first author) in reputable journals. Strong letters of recommendation from different advisors. The interview was a bit weird, the PI I interviewed with knew I was new to the field and asked me some rather specific questions about his own research. Guess they wanted someone who could contribute right away? I was told by email that I was on the short-waitlist and then that there will be no more offers for the Fall.

Ignore waitlist. Has anyone heard anything recent from Arizona State, William and Mary, or South Carolina? Complete silence from them.

Hep-th. Accepted from the waitlist. International student with a Master's degree from the US. 1 publication in Phys Rev D.

Is there a discord group or any association for this year's accepted students? I'm an international student, so that would be very helpful.

Graduate co-ordinator informed me just a while ago. Official rejection letter will come soon. All the positions are filled. I had two papers, Particle Theory Masters from EU and 3 very strong reco letters. In my opinion the current requirements for International students are to have another PhD with 5 papers to get into anywhere top graduate program in Particle Theory.

I opened the box, and it turns out the cat was dead all along.

I asked a Prof. at both of these universities and the prof. forwarded my email to the graduate co-ordinator but still haven't got any updates regarding my application. I basically told the Prof. that graduate co-ordinator is not responding so he tried to help me out by instructing them to respond but still they haven't responded yet. Even if it's a waitlist they can actually tell the situation to us, we should be able to know how much probability do we have to get selected or rejected. Very unprofessional.
