Physics Graduate School Admission Results

Waitlisted. I was really wanting to be a part of the physics education research there...it was literally a dream. I'm trying to keep the faith for acceptance off the waitlist.

Please decline the offer if you don't intend to go there. This is my last hope. I have been rejected from other universities I have applied to.

Didn't expect

Ignore Waitlist. I am hep-th and I also haven't heard back from Penn. I spoke to a current grad student at my undergraduate institution who said Penn never sent him a decision (it would be 3 years late at this point). I think we are just lost in the system :(

TTPB: Nope, I applied for CM/Soft matter theory with interest in biophysics.

Surprised accepted this late - already accepted an offer elsewhere, hopefully it opens a spot for someone else! Good luck to those still waiting! So you know, I got a likely letter a while back. If you received one but still have not heard your results, there may still be hope?

Generic rejection email. 3.95 GPA, a year of research, interned at NASA, president of SPS, lots of extracurriculars/leadership roles, tutor, TA, etc. Utah was my lowest tier backup, so this is actually hilarious.

TTPB: Yes, for their recently advertised quantum gravity position. I don't expect much of anything anymore though.

Got waiting listed too. CME. Is the previous two post from same brother or different applicants?

Please reject the offer if you got a better school (Gravitation and Cosmology) ASAP.

Not selected for AMS. Notified by email: "The selection committee has nominated the candidates for the Amsterdam Excellence Scholarship (AES) and Amsterdam Merit Scholarship (AMS). Unfortunately, you are not selected for any of these scholarships." [etc.]

Is there anyone who still haven't heard from from UPenn? I'm just wondering if I'm on some sort of a waitlist, or they just forgot about me...

Ignore Waitlist: TTPB, I had written a mail to their graduate admissions program and to the physics program. They replied to me within 2 days.
