Political Science, OSU I agree with the person below. I would like to add that the interview process is terrible. Some people got easy questions like "Do you think that is what we should have done in Darfur?" or "What do you think of Columbus?" while others were grilled. During my visits, I met people that were rejected who fall under the "grilled" category and they all had the same thing in common - being very smart people who never set foot in Ohio or got their BA/MA from the University of Chicago.

Political Science, University of Houston I don't mind going here but I found out they are screwing a lot of their fifth year students out of funding to be able to accept a larger incoming class. This seems immoral to me. I have other offers and won't be accepting this one.

Political Science, University Of British Columbia (UBC) I have been accepted in the Master of Arts in Political Science at the University of British Columbia on March 5, 2014. The offer of admission includes a full Graduate Teaching Assistantship that amounts to $11,356 for both semesters. Yet, I refused this offer for personal and academic reasons on April 9, 2014. I am an international student with a Bachelor in a university in the province of Québec (Université de Montréal). I Hope this would help!

Political Science, OSU Just so future applicants know, OSU is terrible with funding. They send out acceptances late January then let you hang around without funding news, only to be told late February that you've been waitlisted for funding. On visit day it was clear that the department is heavily divided between qual vs. quant. AND it seems as though almost everyone they accepted lives in Ohio or has family in Ohio...
