Graduate School Admission Results

Well, no PhD programs for me. Was told I would hear decision no later than 4/1, but didn't get notification until today. About to graduate with M.S., 4.0 graduate GPA, multiple research internships, strong letters of recommendation, prior undergrad research experience, and experience working in govt & corporate. Contacted prof about working with them beforehand, they told me to list them on app. This process really is BS, I honestly don't know that I have the energy or money to try again next year. At some point it's like "what more do you want from me?"

To the other poster: I haven't heard anything either!!! I was told 2-3 weeks on March 7th and it's been 4 now...

Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, major in Automation and Design, from a German university (national rank #20, QS rank ~#400). Top 5 graduating students with a 2.0 German scale GPA (about 3.3 in US scale, not too high GPA but consider to be quite a high GPA for a mechanical degree) 2 years of work experience as an Industrial Engineer (specializing in Digitalization projects). No GRE Quite surprised & happy with the results. Thinking my profile wasn't competitive enough, but I followed the motivation letter guideline on the website closely ( I think that's what get my admission). Waiting for the scholarships announcement Good luck to all future applicants

To all offer holders: may I beg you NOT to hold decisions until the very last minute? It's not that hard to choose after all... My mental health is on the verge of collapse

Ignore status. Have they sent out the first round of offers? It is April!!!!

Can we all please send emails to cornel civil engineering department? It's April 5th already and radio silence. If anyone from the department is here, I would like to point out that having a February first deadline is extremely problematic. It is best to have an early deadline and release decisions on time too, than this stunt Cornell is playing.

Second year in a row applying, and finally got a position I want. Currently working at a US national lab doing research on human-AI teaming. Reached out by the professor at the end of 2022, and interviewed early Jan. Got the verbal acceptance offer March 18, and the official offer on April 3.

Was contacted today notifying me that I am on a shortlist to be admitted to the department pending continued interest in the program and the number of offers the department is able to extend. The official word would come soon from this point, however I have already accepted an offer elsewhere. It is worth noting that this timeline for a second round of acceptances is in line with what is written on the department website this year, 2023: "The Department will contact selected applicants for interviews in February. Final decisions will be made in March and April." In this admissions cycle, interviews were announced on January 27th and occurred in the first two weeks of February; initial acceptances and rejections were made in early to mid March following an open house for select finalists in the first days of March; finally, the second round of decisions was communicated to candidates such as myself in early April. While this has been a very long process, I suggest future applicants who may look at this page refer to the following: as the information was consistent. If this is absolutely your preferred program, refer here and remember that there ALWAYS can be movement at the end of an admission cycle.
