Hi, if anyone who has been accepted to northeastern and have a better place to go please decline northeastern soon.

ignore waitlist; does any one receive an offer in field of CMT?

I just wanted to say what a fucking year is this! 19 rejections and 1 acceptance in hep-th. Even all my safe schools rejected me. I haven't applied to Universities like MIT and all but rather chose which I was confident to get into. With three publications in PRL and JHEP, conferences, four projects in hep-th and two ongoing projects in AdS/CFT, being the University topper and taking a break of an year, preparing hard for the PhD admission, I literally screwed up this year in securing an admission that I dreamed of. I didn't understand why the fuck are they not mentioning the number of vacancies in prior. Every fucking school says we have no vacancies and for fucking sake they have no ashamed in begging money from the students. But I don't regret for choosing hep-th and I will show that what I am capable of.

Ignore waitlisted. Did anyone receive an official letter after open house? I haven't heard anything from them yet ...

I fulfil the minimum criteria (and more), idk what is going on bc two of my friends also applied & got rejected - we are at a top uni of our country and from good academic backgrounds.

Ignore WL. Has anyone else still not heard from Brown? There was one wave of acceptances and two waves of rejections, but I have still not heard anything since my interview and I was told I would hear by mid-march at the latest. Does anyone know if they are just waiting for spots to open up or what else is going on?

Ignore wait listed; Does anyone know what's happening with Northeastern. This is one of the earliest applications (Dec 1) I did and haven't received any notifications so far!

Undergraduate math with a GPA of 3.09,master physics with a GPA of 3.94. Probably, because of the some core courses that I could not take.

Applied to hep-th; Got an email "Thank you very much for your interest in the graduate program at the University at Albany. The admission committee is very impressed by your academic history, but unfortunately, we were not able to include you in the first round of offers. However, you are placed in our waiting list for the slots which may become available in the second half of April".

I had mailed the Graduate Program Assistant Emilio Salvia asking about the status of my application. I got the following reply - "You have been placed on the wait-list. Unfortunately, that means we cannot provide you with a decision yet. I apologize about this, and I know that it is annoying."
