If anyone has better offer, could you please decline your offer, I am very interested to join the program.

Declined offer due to another acceptance.

Astrophysics. Got an email from a professor on the admission committee saying I have been recommended for admission to Ph.D. and should receive an offer letter in a couple of days. First acceptance. 1a/4r/3p. Good luck to others. It's a tough year this time.

I have been waitlisted today and the graduate committee informed me that they will admit me if somebody rejects their offer before April 15. It is my sincere request to anyone who has received an offer from Rice Physics but isn't considering going there, please reject your offer if possible. I have not received any other admits and this one is my last hope of starting my PhD this year.

Prof. Crawford emailed me that I have been admitted to UK, but I reject it because I have accepted a better offer. Hope other students on the waitlist can be admitted! rnGRE sub physics 940, 88%. one paper to be published. The professor say that my research experience is matching with some professors' very well.

Hep-th. Not top of the class, no publications. Undergraduate thesis on Supersymmetry. Had an interview. Received an acceptance mail 3 weeks later. Quite shocking since I got rejected by all the other universities I applied to.

Has anyone not heard from the physics department although got invited to the open house or is it just me? They said they only invite applicants they're considering accepting so I thought getting invitation was kinda equivalent to getting accepted but maybe it was not and I'm waitlisted? I haven't sent them any email because I figured that they already get tons of email asking their status (and didn't want to impose more on them), but this school is one of two top choices I got accepted and I kinda want to decide which to attend and get this whole process done already ....

Interested in doing Quantum Information. No interview, may have contacted potential PI but did not hear back. Have two research experiences and one TA experience. 1 part-time research experience with a professor in my department for 1 year. And 1 full-time paid RA experience for a college outside of the U.S. for three months. I don't have any speical experiences that make me stand out from other applicants. I am grateful that Pittsburgh gives me this opportunity to pursue higher education.

HEP-Ph. Had to email graduate co ordinator to get the information about the application status. Too many rejection on a single day. *It is Virginia Tech in the last post.

CMT, a generic rejection

HEP-Th. Generic Rejection Letter. Probably I was on the waitlist and after all the students filled the positions they have sent me the rejection letter just a while ago. I had a long discussion regarding future research projects and the PI told me that my profile is very strong and they will be able to offer me admission. Personally, it seems to me that in US universities, PI doesn't have any role to play regarding admissions. If I apply next year, I am not sure whether to contact them or not as it raises our expectations and then comes a rejection at the end. (In the generic rejection letter their reason for not offering me the position is- Non-Competitiveness. Hilarious actually.)

Ignore waitlist. Has anyone heard from UT Austin? I sent them multiple emails but they don't respond. Incredible that they're taking so long.

Very sad to receive the rejection, over 200 applicants for a few positions. This is my last place to continue nr research, good luck for other guys receiving the offer

Please decline ND if you have better offer. ND is my top priority. Your little help will make my dream comes true.

Generic Rejection

Not surprised at all. At least they sent out a rejection. Other universities have not given any updates and not even responding to emails.
