Physics Graduate School Admission Results

Physics GPA 3.84, 6 Months of HEP-ex research, one grad school class in machine/deep learning, two independent studies. Last result from universities. 4a/5r. I have officially committed to my school and rejected the other offers.

I was put in a "very short" waitlist in early Feb, but then heard nothing from them.

Email to check the portal. QIS/AMO. Two line generic rejection letter. This was the most awaited rejection. Finally got a closure. But this is really disappointing and I'm really sad.

Only offered best wishes for my future career. Extremely bad year for hep-th!

physics is literally a trade at this point. if i wanted to memorize meaningless jargon i would have become a plumber. also they make the field as inaccessible as possible & then ask how we'll help make it inclusive in the application... ultra bruh moment
