TTPB: Was emailed yesterday by the Director of Grad Studies

For those already rejected - how did you find out already? I thought decisions weren't made yet. For the poster who contacted the department - what else did they say?

TTPB: I'm sorry but if you are questioning whether or not the school is good enough for you, why did you apply in the first place? Also, there are people who received zero acceptances this year who are willing to take on any opportunities to learn. If you think your "fit" for the department is great, take the opportunity. If not, pass on the opportunity to others.

Same as others. They do say in their email that they are refunding our app fees. Doesn't help with the cost of sending my GRE scores or the fact that I could've applied to a different school if I'd have known, but it's something I guess. on a side note... that poster who applied to WSU should ask for a refund of their fee since they didn't run an app cycle this year

Hm, not sure. I received a part time TA-ship and fellowship from the grad school which was decided this month.

To the person below who was accepted into UCONN, did you receive funding? A status was never posted in the portal but I received an email from them directly this month saying that they want to admit me but that they have not made any final decisions for students since they don't yet know about funding? So I'm kind of confused that different people are hearing different things.

I received notice that a decision had been posted to the app portal, and I was accepted. I then reached out to DGS to thank them and introduce myself. I'm not sure when other decisions are coming out, but it seems staggered.

Does anyone know if getting a PhD from this school is worth it? It's lower ranked. Please answer thank you!

Has anyone heard from UConn at at all? I figured they would be releasing at least some decisions by now...

Emailed the department said they are still making decisions, because they had a large applicant pool this year.

And they tell you this after taking the application fees from you, is it? Why couldn't they have told this before? It's not like they realized they had budget cuts suddenly after the admission deadline.
