English Graduate School Admission Results

GPA is MA. Short email. I am very excited!

I don't have an MA so I will probably never get into a PhD program, and my years in a public school classroom doesn't mean much to committees. Oh well.

Bummer, the second year of applying, last year covid crossed out my chances, this year just me. Fingers crossed for my second choice!

Email from DGS informing me that I'm at the top of their waitlist

Email to check portal. Standard rejection letter. Good luck!

Received an email to check portal. Had to wait 24 hours for the portal to update, then saw "DENIED" in all caps and knew my fate.

"Our Admissions and Fellowships Committee has reviewed all the materials in your application for admission to our graduate program in English, and I am sorry to have to write that we shall be unable to admit you. We had far more talented applicants this year than we could admit to the program, which required very tough decisions. We are grateful, however, for your interest in Indiana University and wish you well in the future."

4.0 MA GPA. 4 conference presentations (including one national) among secondary and some university teaching experience. Super bummed. Not sure what went wrong, but I'm just happy to have an answer and be put out of my misery. Onto the next! 0a/1r/11p
