Philosophy Graduate School Admission Results

Received an email promising more details to come later in the week. If it is any solace to those having a tough app cycle, this is my third time around. 1a/2p

Received the Email from Ingo on 4th Feb. A bit surprised as my academic record is not so great. (CGPA 2.992/4 and Major GPA 3.163/4)

4.0 GPA (grad) / email to check portal. Oddly enough, it's not like you ever get an email to check the portal and find GOOD news there. You know, when you look at the state of the job market and the average size of stipends in comparison with living expenses and the fact that all tenured profs seem to do is complain on Twitter about how much it sucks to get paid to do something they find intrinsically valuable even while most people in the country believe it is pointless and/or borderline criminal, etc., etc.... You would suppose that it would be at least somewhat less competitive. 0a / 0w / 8r / 11p

Email saying decision was available on portal, checked portal, "We regret..."

Got a call from the director of grad studies in the program, was very nice and gave me great info.

Saw somebody on here got accepted, went to check and it looks like I got accepted, too. I think it is legitimate, but I am hoping for an email/call soon!

No notification from department -- just happened to check the portal. Happy they let me know sooner! 2a/4r/12p
