TTPB: No interview/reply after emailing 4 POIs. I think it is rare for a private university to offer admission without any interview... So maybe the rejection is on the way...

Got accepted to MSCS (Scientist and Engineers) on Feb 2,2021 from an email that led me to their decisions portal

TTPB: Were you waitlisted today? I am assuming that you might have been put on the waitlist quite before. I was informed about the waitlist in the second week of February. I am also worried about people denying the offer(s). Hope you get positive news soon.

I got waitlisted and wonder whether any admitees would be declining their offer. It seems this would be my last and only chance for this year. I know it is still quite early, but if you have made the decision, please let them know. Thank you!

TTBP: Can you tell us if you were interviewed before. Also, what's yours are in CS?

[Not interview] Does anybody have any idea why USC decided to send out rejections first? Previous years the first contacted accepted students to confirm their interest, only then the rejected ones. Anyways, I hope that not getting any info now can be a good sign

Already have better offers but still dissapointing considering that it was one of my safety schools

Got an email that a decision had been made. This was on the portal. I am writing in regard to your application for admission to graduate study at the University of Southern California. After careful review of your application and supporting materials, the Admission Committee has asked me to inform you that your application to the Doctor of Philosophy program in Economics for Fall 2021 has not been approved, and we are not able to offer you admission to this program. We understand this must be very disappointing news. Please bear in mind that each year the university receives applications from many more students than it can accommodate. Admissibility is determined by the size of the applicant pool as well as student credentials. Unfortunately, as a result we are not able to offer admission to some students of significant ability and potential. We encourage you to continue to work toward your educational and professional goals, and wish you every success in your future endeavors.
