Physics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Official rejection email after informal rejection a couple of days after Christmas . Informal rejection stated that my application was incomplete (missing Physics GRE scores, which I did not have ready on time), and therefore would not be read. Received acceptances from other programs in Applied Physics, so with the GRE this could have gone either way.

Chemical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology I applied for PhD program and also checked 'yes' to be considered as Master's. I sent an email to the department and they didn't even read it. Am I waitlisted or already rejected but they were not interested in sending a reject letter?

Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology A response to the two posters below. I received an informal email from Daniel Shea, an administrative assistant from the Mech E graduate office, with a formal admission offer letter from the admission chair attached. When prompted, the graduate office responded by stating that the admission offers are made on a rolling basis and more information regarding the open house (March 13-16) will be provided early next week. (EECS) Electrical And Computer Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology I'm one of the rejects below. actually it wasn't my first choice because professors at CSAIL aren't doing the research that I want. ironically, one of the people they bring in to MIT for invited talks to students, is my new advisor :) so keep an open mind.
