Physics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Official rejection email after informal rejection a couple of days after Christmas . Informal rejection stated that my application was incomplete (missing Physics GRE scores, which I did not have ready on time), and therefore would not be read. Received acceptances from other programs in Applied Physics, so with the GRE this could have gone either way.

Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology A response to the two posters below. I received an informal email from Daniel Shea, an administrative assistant from the Mech E graduate office, with a formal admission offer letter from the admission chair attached. When prompted, the graduate office responded by stating that the admission offers are made on a rolling basis and more information regarding the open house (March 13-16) will be provided early next week. You should hear from them soon. Best of luck!
