2 years undergrad research including 1 REU, 1.5 years post-bac research with 1 first author publication and 1 second author.

The strange thing is the rejection email said that if I am admitted to another MIT or Harvard graduate program I should apply to MEMP again next year. Not sure what to make of that statement.

Got the call this AM! Said getting letter next week. REU at top 10 ChE program, second author pub, first author manuscript

2 publications as second author, 5 poster presentations at local and national conferences, 3 years in academic cancer bio research + 1 year in industry, strong LoRs all from affiliates with MIT (2 from the bio program) - not sure what more they could be looking for lol. Definitely know much less qualified people (6 months-1 year research experience, no presentations, publications, etc.) who got interviews here....

BS from Emory (CS and Neuroscience) and MS from Stanford (Bioengineering). No publications but multiple research experience.

Emailed POI and he said I was not on the interview list (first choice systems track).

kinda sad...but expected

Life science major in undergrad and switched to comp bio during Master's. Almost did not apply to this program because I didn't think my research background is quantitative enough. I was told post-interview acceptance rate is a little less than 50%, best of luck to everyone.

Interviews conducted between 1/21 and 1/28. 2.5 years research in medical technology research and development, 2 conference abstracts, no authored publications but two in the works. Currently attend a top-10 university and will receive a BS in bioengineering.

1 publication, and extensive research, lab, and internship experience throughout all of university. Likely rejected due to lack of strong bio/medical background, which was requested by the program, in addition to engineering/physics background (which I had). Specifically, my bio/medical background was limited to 8~ courses half of which were audited and one independent research project.
