For those who have heard back, given it is rolling admission, approximately when did you submit your applications?

Did anybody get accepted without an interview?

unofficial email from admissions committee. They explicitly mention that they are processing applications on a rolling basis so it might take a few weeks for everyone to hear back.

Official letter from the chair. This year the admission is rolling-based (explicitly mentioned in the email), so best of the luck for everyone!

Based on the content of the comments below, I enthusiastically wanted to say that I am VERY GLAD to know that the Information Science Department at Cornell also seems to place a strong value in accepting students interested in qualitative research :)))

TTPB: Was this official or unofficial acceptance into PhD?

TTPB: okay, now we're just making up priors xD — as far as my own estimation goes, it's nothing quite this fancy. Let's just call it a well-educated guess and see how the final decisions pan out :)

Continuing to PhD from a combined BS/MS program. Have 1 publication. Interviewed two weeks ago.

TTPB: I am just curious -- was your method of arriving at the ~50% figure if not by some kind of loose estimation like the one I used? But fair point. Let me revise. (Fwiw, I thought the 14 was referring to the number of accepted students not matriculations). But anyway: (1) About 20% of accepted IS students post on here. But an interview is less of a big deal, so let's assume only 10% of interviewees post here. (2) Then 10 * 6 posts = 60 estimated interview invites. (3) To achieve 14 students enrolling, Cornell has to accept twice as much due to 50% yield rate. So there will be 28 acceptances. (4) Then the post-interview acceptance rate is 28/60 ~ 46%. Same number mwahaha ;)
