Computer Science, Northwestern University Hey here: GPA : 8.4/10. Tier 2 private university (Among the likes of VIT, Manipal, KIIT, SRM) GRE : 325( 167Q) Almost 4 YOE at a top MNC (FAANG level) Glad to see someone had applied for ms cs at nw. Till now I havent found another soul! :D I thought I was the only one applying here.

Computer Science, University Of Massachusetts, Amherst TTPB: As I mentioned in the previous message, The admission process is apparently the same as last year. THey will consider MS/PhD applications for on-campus MS if qualified. Eileen directly replied today and mentioned that to me. The partial information given by them on the website caused a serious misunderstanding. Stay positive buddy, we still have a fair chance. ATB :)

Computer Science, University Of Massachusetts, Amherst I had mailed Eileen to ask about the changes to MS/PhD program. It seems like they still consider some qualified students to the MS program. The online and hybrid programs are just additional options. I sent a very polite mail but I hope it doesn't affect my admission decision lol. We may have overreacted out of the stress we have due to the admissions or were just alarmed due to the lack of info provided by them. Anyway, ATB to all :)

Computer Science, University of California-San Diego Ignore waitlist. TTPB: If only rejects are left, then why do they bother not sending them away. Why send only couple of rejects per day. They should rather give people waiting to hear back a sense of clarity.

Computer Science, University Of Texas At Austine Got notified via email that I am not being considered for admission. Few people got recommended for Online MS, I was not even one of them. SOP and LORs were decent but lack of research experience and papers must have been the reason.

Computer Science, University Of California, Irvine I had put this on my safe school list. Anyway, I have a great offer from a better school. Honestly, since the process is so stochastic, I don't think these rejects represent my worth or academic calibre. To those accepted elsewhere but dejected, c'mon, stop fishing for validation through more admits. Be happy with what you have!

Computer Science, University Of Massachusetts, Amherst Their portal is certainly the worst amongst all the places that I have applied to. They send a mail stating that there is an "update pending" on the portal, and then we have to wait for 1-2 days before getting the results. Just send a mail when you actually have the results on the portal so that we can check it out and move ahead with our lives. Or send the results in the mail itself. Anything is better than their current convoluted process.
