Foreign Service, Georgetown University School Of Foreign Service (SFS) Accepted with 4 years of Chinese experience and 5 years of Korean experience, with 1 year of studying abroad in Taiwan, and 3 months of studying abroad in South Korea. Also taught English in South Korea for 2 months on an internship, plus currently doing a fellowship on translating Chinese media articles regarding security affairs. Current senior thesis project is on Chinese soft power in Taiwan.

Security Studies, Georgetown University School Of Foreign Service (SFS) International student. Crap undergrad GPA. Grades all over the place - even had a retake. No GRE. Yikes! I'm posting lots of information here so professionals with similar experience don't hesitate to apply. I almost skipped Georgetown because I thought I couldn't make the cut. Extensive 8+ years work experience in private sector and projects with international orgs. Extremely invested in the profession. Lots of media appearances, talks in conferences, and similar experiences. I knew exactly why I want to go into the program. I think I wrote a very strong SoP and PoS as well. References were great. 1 Professor and 2 Professional.

Security Studies, Georgetown University School Of Foreign Service (SFS) I applied one month before the deadline without a GRE and a 3.1 GPA. Five years of work experience. The COVID-19 pandemic sparked my desire to get back into school and pursue a career in national security. My essays reflected that. That, and the recommendations, carried me this far. Close, but no cigar (yet). The SSP community were really supportive during the application process.
