MSFS, Georgetown University School Of Foreign Service (SFS) 3.91 undergrad gpa from small, average (possibly below-average) liberal arts school. IR/French double major, Spanish/econ double minor. 95th percentile verbal, 84th writing, average quant. No internships but strong recs, 1.5 years full time employment in unrelated field + consistent employment through undergrad. Would love love love to get in off the waitlist but probably lots of much better candidates also on the list. Astonished to have been put on it at all instead of outright rejection. Accepted to JHU, GW, American, Denver, UCSD

Latin American Studies, Georgetown University School Of Foreign Service (SFS) Strong LOR's and work experience did the trick. have confidence and simply apply. Having more than 4 years of experience sets you apart from the crowd. My GREs weren't stellar but, once again - being on the job for more than 5 years tells committees more than a stupid test.

Asian Studies, Georgetown University School Of Foreign Service (SFS) Extremely happy to have been admitted to my dream school! undergrad in my final year! Abysmally low GRE scores but very high GPA (3.8), killer Recco's, good personal statement, living abroad and most importantly, strong work experience (internships at Carnegie, IISS)..Extremely happy to have made it and looking forward to strengthening my knowledge on Asia in the Walsh School of Foreign Service! Advice to prospective applicants- do as many internships as you can along with traveling abroad and having a good GPA....these can definitely compensate for your low GRE scores! all the best and congratulations to all who got accepted! :)
