Computer Science, University Of California, San Diego TTPB: Congrats man. UCSD job and industry wise. There are many reports out there to show UCSD is only a ranking or two below CMU for job prospects. Mind sharing your stats? For all of us that got rejected by UCSD

Computer Science, University Of California, San Diego Did my undergrad study(major in CS) at a UC. I have two strong LoRs from two (UCSD alumni) tenured Professors(one obtained a Ph.D. degree from UCSD, one did his Postdoc research and served as a Research Faculty at UCSD for more than 5 years) and one strong LoR from a rising star assistant professor. Still got rejected. I met lots of students with lower GPA/weaker background(or even majored in other majors during undergrad) who got accepted from UCSD. So it seems a little bit weird to me that I get rejected.

Computer Science, UC San Diego (UCSD) This rejection officially ends this long season of applications and admits. Got two admits, CMU (which I'll be taking) and Columbia. Rejected from all other MSCS programs. No idea why. Does feel pretty bad getting rejected from everywhere

Computer Science, University Of California, San Diego TTPB: I'm the person below who has a 3.9+ GPA and still got rejected by UCSD, and yeah I also got rejected by GaTech and was waitlisted by UCLA. Not sure if they value GPA or GRE that much or if I was just unlucky. I do agree that future applicants should be careful applying to MS CS programs at these three schools as they get more competitive each year.

Computer Science, University Of California, San Diego Looks like around this date last year was the mass rejection wave. And on 9th April 2020 a lot of people talked about their checklist disappearing. Checked gradcafe. Let's be mentally prepared for the replay. Good luck. UCSD will someday learn from their mistakes the hard way.

Computer Science, Georgia Institute Of Technology Torn between G.Tech MSCS and UCSD MSCS. Have got good and bad reviews on both. Slightly inclined towards UCSD because of more flexibility to choose courses and better CV research. People I reached out to said in rankings both colleges are identical. Agree to the general norms that both colleges have taken in good profiles as well as profiles below average in the name of diversity. Overall cost of the MS is also nearly identical at both places but UCSD seems to have the nicer weather while TA is completely waived off in GTech. Any responses would be highly appreciated

Computer Science, University Of Wisconsin-Madison After my 2 long comments yesterday with admits in OSU and then Purdue, got the third one for PMP at WiscMad. Not bad given that not even a handful got WiscMad MS CS (with aid option) and PMP is an excellent substitute for the same. Not sure how to choose between Purdue and PMP WM, though might end up on the former. UNC with hardly any seats gave the cold shoulder. Not bad for me with 11 applications to have 3 admits, 6 rejects and 2 waiting. One Penn likely to get, other UCSD GOK. The way UCSD which is the standard place even the low ranks from my college get, year after year, has neither rejected me nor accepted me, is rather funny. Was in the bottom of the LIFO stack having tried in Oct 20. Will wait but UCSD does not excite me any longer even a bit and Penn will add to the OSU like trophies which I wont carry. So very happy with Purdue and WM but not sure how to chose. All my admits have happened in past 9 days and I have waited since Oct 15 2020 for the same. WORTH THE WAIT. All the best to the others.
