Graduate School Admission Results

I got a rejection via email. The admissions are already closed. It is said that they selected some of the applicants for interviews. There are a few UBC undergraduates got accepted.

I applied in december 6 and waiting for result. If anyone received any update please share.

What were they doing during these 5 months?!?

Had two top conference papers. Severe competition this year, congrats to those winners.

Well it took them 5 long months to say that o.O

Was on the waitlist for about two months, told today there was unfortunately no space for more than 1-2 Political Theory intakes. Email from the graduate chair was very kind and encouraged me to apply next year (I've already accepted elsewhere, but nice gesture). He sounded truly disappointed they couldn't take more students - even went so far as to let me know I could contact him for advice and connections in the future. Not disappointed because I am already going to a great program, but disappointed I won't get to work with such kind, caring faculty!

From LUMS Pakistan. Defiantly a yes. It was a wait, worth the while! Yeah!

Received notice I was being recommended for admission - official offer should come next week. Graduate teaching assistant position offer also coming.

I have been accepted in the Master of Arts in Political Science at the University of British Columbia on March 5, 2014. The offer of admission includes a full Graduate Teaching Assistantship that amounts to $11,356 for both semesters. Yet, I refused this offer for personal and academic reasons on April 9, 2014. I am an international student with a Bachelor in a university in the province of Québec (Université de Montréal). I Hope this would help!

From University of Tehran, Iran. Funding is available for me. Undergraduate GPA : 3.80, TOEFL : 101.

To the poster below (UBC). Congrats for admission, did you get any funding (assistantship) information?

Good GPA, No research experience and publication, low TOEFL score (95/120). an undergrad student of computer engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Iran.

Offered PhD Track. Had interview with POI. From India. No publications, no teaching/work experience, not the best grades (it was pointed out in the interview), decent LoRs. Did not expect to get it at all! Really thrilled; I'm going for sure!
