Welp, that about wraps things up for me

No e-mail yet. Happened to be checking the status page and saw it. GREs a little low, but have presented at conferences and been published in a policy journal. Fifth rejection of five so far.

No email. just checked the website after a lot of people did the same thing. Pretty rude.

I have to say looking at all the comments below, I was all 'oh, people just pissy about rejection' but it really is the worst reject email I've ever seen. 4 sentences, and one is "I know this will come as unwelcome news." Wow. Whatever, in at a better school.

Posters below - you took the words right out of my mouth. Worst mail merge ever.

Comparative. 4.0 in MA. (Side note, GW also rejected me as an undergrad years ago. We have been in an abusive relationship for a long time.)

Totally echoing the long post below -- no email, inconsistent fonts, false notification date... basically everything unprofessional that you could possibly have in ONE notification. Wow GWU, wow, you've never failed to impress me since the fake data scandal with US News college ranking. Won't be long till you get kicked out of the graduate ranking too! Oh did I also mention you were the only "safety" school on my list?

Yea, I agree with the poster below. Height of rudeness from this school, and it has happened before. Anyway, in at better places.

Screw GWU. I can understand that they did not accept me; some schools did and some didn't. But GWU are extremely rude. After a $75 application fee, they didn't even bother to send me an automatically generated email saying to check the site. I simply logged into the website and the decision information was at the bottom of the page. It said it was available since March 1, but wasn't there yesterday. And the letter didn't even have consistent font!

Salvages my ego to get an acceptance after three rejections, but sadly it looks like there is no funding attached. Part of the email: The department's admissions committee ranked over 350 applications this year. The pool was one of the most competitive we have ever had. Our goal is a diverse class of about 15 top-notch students. We very much hope that you will be among them. While we would like to fund all of our students, our resources are limited, we cannot offer you funding at this time. Be assured that if additional funding does become available, you will be given full consideration.

No funding, so not going to accept offer. Have a funded alternative.
