Graduate School Admission Results

Funding through RAship ~$20k. Strangest thing is that I was funded by a Prof not in my SOP, not from my area of interest and not from my deptt (has a joint appointment though).

Beginning to think "very competitive pool of applicants" is just department speak for "We need to break up... its not you...its me."

My status is changed, too. They will notify me by email. Oh my god, it seems a bad sign. I feel really bad.

Status change stating that I will get decision by postal service (only) - seeing how people were accepted by email or website notificaton I take it as a bad sign.

I applied both ms and phd program. Actually, I prefer to be admitted by phd program. Bless!

Yeap, my status changed, too. "You will receive notification of your admission decision soon via postal mail.....". I guess we are then waiting for letters.....

Just checked my status and observed no change: "Your file is currently in the first stage of our evaluation process. We will notify you if additional information or materials are required. Please contact your intended academic department directly to make sure all supplemental application materials have been received."

Multiple first-author top-tier journal and conference papers, extensive independent and collaborative research experience, 3.9 GPA with undergrad majors in CS and Psych, member of university and CS honors programs, verbal and writing scores above 90th percentile... rejected because of average math GRE scores. Accepted to CMU, though! Later, USC!

Accepted with Annenberg Fellowship.

It seems like USC CS-department notifies the admitted applicants separately rather than mass-email. It mentioned in the email that the deadline to respond my decision is April 15th.
