E-mailed the program three times in three months, finally heard back today: "Unfortunately we were not able to secure a mentor/advisor for you for the Fall 2013 semester. I know this has been a lengthy process, but the competition was very keen and faculty are being very selective on who they will accept." This makes 0 for 4. I am probably leaving the field altogether. |

Now it's July. I haven't heard a word out of the department despite writing them in each of the last two months. I am now making alternate plans and will not enter the prospective field at all. 4.0 in related M.S. and 3.8 in qualifying courses taken over the last two years. What WAS I thinking? |
