Interview with one POI and one other professor. It does seem generic - and the sign up website seems glitchy

Any news anyone? Any notification of an interview invitation?

Regretfully we must inform you that we are not able to grant you admission to the Ph.D. program in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University. Although your academic credentials are certainly outstanding, the large size and excellent quality of this year's applicant pool for our graduate program required us to deny admission to many qualified students such as yourself. We are a relatively small department in terms of faculty size, and we go to great measures to ensure that we can adequately supervise all of our admitted graduate students, something that can only be accomplished by limiting admissions to the program.

To the post below, who got into Princeton, could you write your subfield?

Terrible pGRE. But 3 first-author publications, numerous conference presentations, and several awards (incl. Goldwater), which I figured would outweigh the test score. Apparently it does not.

Has anyone got a rejection from these guys?

Two masters, one from Stanford. Letters of recommendation from Stanford faculty. Such a total failure

Called the department. They already sent out offers and waitlist positions, rejections will follow this week.
