I emailed a couple of professors mentioned in my PS, about my application status. One professor replied: I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news -- I believe that the admission committee considered you seriously but decided not to admit you into the Phd program. Good luck, and I do hope that you can find a place where you will have a productive and successful career.
