Graduate School Admission Results

I thought that the situation might change with high chances of deferments from India for Fall 21 cycle. Anyway, I already accepted another great university but heartbroken ... uggghhhhh

Asian Male. Graduating salutatorian, won mathematics awards, high GPA, hold executive positions on multiple campus extracurriculars but submitted without GRE. Absolutely heartbreaking as I submitted early and crafted my essay about how it was the only school that I'm applying to since it was my dream school. I spent 4 years in college to build up to this moment. I guess I have to work harder.

Received email to check the website, accepted another offer anyway, good luck to those still waiting!

As said the result is out at the end of April. I have just received mime and it was as expected :(

ignore wl. Anybody has any update today? someone said the results will be out on the 30th which is today.

Yes I think so too, I did not see any relationship between admissions and GPA or GRE scores, it is a little mystery. But yes I'm really pissed with the Uni which has no sense of whatsoever. You gotta understand that it's students who are waiting for results: all you gotta do is update, rejected or waitlisted than make them wait till the end with hopes lingering and rejecting them on their face. Pathetic.

TTPB: I HIGHLY doubt that its based on just GPA... I have a near 4.0 GPA and submitted my application all the way back in early January, and yet I still haven't heard anything from the program. I saw many admitted people who posted on here with lower GPA and/or GRE scores than mine, so I don't think its sorted by GPA/GRE at all.

So the results will be uploaded on 30th? A few observations, saw the profiles of the candidates who have been accepted. Was surprised to see the profiles and wondered if the Ivy league status is as selective as they claim. It is not tough to get in, just a lil bit of luck, have seen generic profiles make in. If mass rejections are coming up then Columbia must face consequences of wasting 3.5 months for doing so, an applicant pays money to be reviewed and needs answers to decide on other programs and get Visas as well. Reflects extremely poor on the program and University. All the best guys, brace yourselves.rn

For the WL, we are finally almost there. they said April 30. So, only two more days to go. After that if you don't receive any response from them. Then, you defiantly need to give up on them :p. I am waiting for their response too thou I have a strong feeling it is a rejection with a small hope of acceptance

TTPB: (Ignore WL) And to add to that, even if you do get accepted, they would only give you 2 weeks to make a decision and a $4,000 security deposit to pay (which is a lot). I submitted my application 5 months ago and still no status. I feel like I should just give up at this point lol.

Ignore WL: This is getting unacceptable... and it's hurting my ability to decide on other schools... If this is how serious they treat us as applicants, I think it reflects on the integrity of the program as well...

Ignore WL. Emailed regarding application status, never got an reply. I think if people are on the waiting list, at least they supposed to send out notification about it like what other institutions did. Anyway I will go to another program.

Haven't heard back from the program either. It has been more than 3 months, I wonder whats taking them this long to decide.

Why is the university not giving rejections ? Just let us know we are rejected, or something. Why is the university delaying everything. it is almost the last week of april.Has someone contacted the department lately ?

Ignore WL: Anyone hear back from admissions yet? It's past mid-April where they said the delayed results would come out, and this is getting ridiculous.
