I had worked in 4 labs and as a residential hall assistant for 1.5 years, 2nd author of scientific paper under review, taught 2 scientific courses, selected 3 recommendation writers who knew me for my research, academics, and teaching experience. Admissions committee had only received one letter of recommendation by the time they asked to interview me. Selection is highly competitive, but if you get an interview you are pretty much in the program because the department has a lot of openings. I'm pretty happy about this. |

As soon as I submitted the application they contacted me to interview. Six days post-interview I received and email, phone call, and a letter in the mail telling me of my acceptance. The advisor during the interview told us that everyone who was waitlisted last year was then accepted come April. If that makes anyone feel better? Good luck!!! :) |
