Note

I had worked in 4 labs and as a residential hall assistant for 1.5 years, 2nd author of scientific paper under review, taught 2 scientific courses, selected 3 recommendation writers who knew me for my research, academics, and teaching experience. Admissions committee had only received one letter of recommendation by the time they asked to interview me. Selection is highly competitive, but if you get an interview you are pretty much in the program because the department has a lot of openings. I'm pretty happy about this.
